| | amused | ] | A lot of films seen recently (well, three in five days, which is a lot). I guess I'm just winding down after two presentations in two weeks. I have to start cracking the whip again soon. I do have to recommend the last two (Munich being the first): Hidden, or Caché, to give it its original title (like Munich, probably only a one-time viewing film), and Walk the Line, which is likely to push Johnny Cash sales up all across the world, with the cross-marketing possibilities.
The film reminded me, though, of a presentation of National Public Radio's quiz/comedy show Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me a couple of years ago. The question was asked, which Johnny Cash tune was going to be used as a commercial jingle for a haemorrhoid relief product? The answer, of course (though I had never heard of the song before), was 'Ring of Fire'. Actually, June Carter wrote it, but I don't know whether she ever recorded it. Johnny did.
'And it burns, burns, burns, The Ring of Fire.' |
